Cookie Policy

What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by a website. Cookies serve various purposes, from keeping you logged in, to remembering preferences, to tracking your activity across the web for advertising purposes.
Cookies ManaBurned Does Not Use
We do not use:
- Analytics cookies — no Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo, or similar tools
- Advertising or targeting cookies — no ad networks, retargeting pixels, or behavioural profiling
- Social media cookies — no Facebook Pixel, Twitter/X tag, or similar embeds
- Cross-site tracking — we do not share or sell browsing data to third parties
Cookies ManaBurned May Use
We may set strictly essential cookies necessary for the operation of the site:
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm | Cloudflare bot management (if CDN is used for DDoS protection) | 30 minutes | Essential |
| Session storage (browser) | Temporary UI state (e.g., search results, open tabs) stored in browser session storage, not as cookies | Tab session | Essential |
ManaBurned does not currently require a login, so we do not set authentication cookies. The above table will be updated if our cookie use changes.
Why No Consent Banner?
Under Canada's PIPEDA and the EU's ePrivacy Directive, consent is required for non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics, advertising). Because ManaBurned only sets essential/functional cookies (if any at all), no consent banner or cookie wall is required.
We believe this is the right approach: not tracking you means we don't need to ask you for permission to track you.
Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Below are links to cookie management instructions for common browsers:
Blocking or deleting essential cookies may affect the functionality of the site.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever introduce new cookies (for example, if we add an analytics tool), we will update this page and, where required by law, implement appropriate consent mechanisms before any non-essential cookies are set.
